Judge Marben Orders Sanctions Hearing For Doe 19 Case
In the Doe 19 case, Bishop Hoeppner and Diocese of Crookston were court ordered to release names of any priests related to reports of abuse. This order was in 2015, years after Bishop Hoeppner had been made aware of Ron's allegations of abuse by Msgr. Grundhaus. Msgr. Grundhaus's name was not included in the list of names provided by the Diocese of Crookston.
This evidentiary hearing will be held on May 31, 2018 at the Pennington County Courthouse in Thief River Falls, MN. At this hearing, the Bishop will have to explain why he did not include Msgr. Grundhaus's name on the list of priests provided in the Doe 19 case.
Prior to this hearing, the Bishop will be deposed, along with others who may have had knowledge of the abuse by Grundhaus on Ron Vasek.
